Scottish Highland Dance Pumps – Style Glenalmond
Scottish Highland Dance Pumps are known by many names, including highland pumps, gillies, pumps, highland dancing shoes, ghillies or soft shoes No matter what you call them, they’re all the same type of footwear.

Traditionally Made
At Thistle Shoes, we take pride in our Highland dance pumps — a tradition rooted in our origins in Fife, Scotland, and one we continue to uphold with the same dedication today.

Arched Last
The Glenalmond is lasted on a slight arched last to help accentuate the point and hug the arch when dancing.

Whole Cut With No Front Seam Or Loop
The Glenalmond Highland dance pump is made from a single piece of leather, which removes the central seam. This design gives more space for your toes, making it extra comfortable.

4-Finger Lace System
The pumps are designed with a 4-finger lace system to ensure a secure and snug fit, giving dancers confidence and support during their movements. However, for toddler sizes 10-13, the pumps have a 3-finger lace system instead. This is because a 4th finger would rise too high on the foot, making the fit less comfortable for smaller sizes. This thoughtful adjustment ensures that every dancer, regardless of age, gets the perfect fit for their needs.

Extra Eyelet At Ankle
We added an extra eyelet near the ankle to give better support and help the heel sit securely in the heel cup at the back of the pump. This design makes the fit more comfortable and keeps the pump in place while dancing.

Free Cotton Protector Bag
Enjoy a free cotton drawstring bag with your new pumps! Ideal for carrying and protecting them wherever you go.
